Location and Facilities
Walnut Park Montessori School
New England Montessori Teacher Education Center conducts summer classes at Walnut Park Montessori School, a beautiful air-conditioned facility located in a pleasant, residential neighborhood. The school is accredited by the American Montessori Society and has six fully-equipped Montessori environments. We have ample space for our classes, practice labs, library, student/staff meeting area, and Montessori summer office space.
Walnut Park Montessori School does conduct a camp program for children during the summer, providing us with the opportunity to observe children in action as part of our studies.
We provide several extra sets of Montessori materials for practice labs, as well as materials for students to borrow so that you can practice at home; much like a lending library.
There is an extensive library of video tapes of lectures and materials demonstrations for review purposes, in addition to the center's library of texts and related reading.
We enjoy a beautiful outdoor environment as well, including spacious grounds shaded by mature trees with areas especially designed for children's play. These areas provide comfortable outdoor spaces for lunches and discussion groups.
Transportation and Parking
There is plenty of free parking in the school's parking lot.
The school is located in Newton, a suburb on the western edge of Boston; only a few minutes from the commuter rail stations and downtown Boston by public transport, and is a pleasant walk from Newton Corner. It is easy to reach by car because of its location away from the heavily congested downtown areas and its easy access to major roadways from all directions.

Boston is an exciting place to be in the summer!
There is all the history and culture of the city and its people to explore: the theatre; the museums; historical sites such as the Freedom Trail, the USS Constitution, and the Old North Church; the vibrant ethnic neighborhoods of the North End and Chinatown; the free summer concerts with the Boston Pops on the Charles River.
In addition to all the attractions of the city, there's also the beautiful New England coastline, the seashore and the nearby mountains to explore.
